Dinner last night was a good one!
After having a late breakfast/early lunch, I was more than ready for a warm, comforting meal. We paired gluten-free quinoa pasta with a garlic spaghetti sauce that we added a lean meat to. We also enjoyed a couple of slices of gluten free garlic bread on the side.
It’s safe to say that I’m getting used to my new dietary needs! We have been able to find a good gluten free bread and a few different types of pasta that are making everything a whole lot easier. Lets be honest, I wasn’t going to give up my love of carbs.
Today I chose to pair something that I don’t enjoy with something that I love, in hopes that they would meet somewhere in the middle.
I had plans to spend the day studying for my NASM personal training certification, and studying is not one of my favorite activities, even if I do love what I’m learning about.
Thankfully I have a study buddy to join me.. can you spot her in this picture?
Thankfully, she’s in the napping mood, for now. It’s snowing (as usual) outside, so I’m hoping it’s a sleepy day for Lily. Those don’t come often and I could really use one today!
Because studying bores me to death, I added one of my favorite things to do to the mix…
Catching up on the Biggest Loser!! I am currently on the makeover episode, which is always my second favorite episode (next to the finale) so studying is going better than I expected!
Inspired by today’s activities, I wanted to share some of my favorite quotes/moments from the Biggest Loser that push me to be the best person that I can be, and hopefully will inspire you too!
And warning, if you didn’t already know it, you’re about to. I am obsessed with Jillian Michaels.
And most importantly, what I told myself throughout my entire marathon this October..
She is intense, but that’s what makes me love her.
There is really no better motivation.
Tell Me: Are you a fan of the Biggest Loser? Who is your favorite trainer?

LOVE the motivational Jillian quotes. I have been thinking about going through NASM as well. I guess you went with the plan that comes with the study materials? What do you think so far?
Running In Heels March 13, 2013 at 8:38 am
Yes, I chose the plan with the book and I am loving it so far!

LOVE Jillian as well…She is such a mean, motivational woman! I am also studying NASM right now as well and while I don’t mind the studying so much, my problem is finding the time with my job, husband, and precious 2-year-old. When did you start gluten-free? Did you go through any physical-type withdrawals?

I started about three weeks ago, and I definitely had some cravings at first and still do from time to time. It was for health reasons that I had to switch though, I am allergic and my body physically rejects it, so I am definitely feeling much better

Omg our Jillian obsession is identical! You rock for posting all those pictures.

Jillian terrifies me and I love her. So intense and over the top! I would love to work out with her. I think I cried the entire makeover episode. I’m a mess lol

That pasta looks good! It doesn’t even look gluten free.
I used to babysit this family several years ago before the gluten intolerance was so well known and the poor boy had the worst tasting food. It’s great that grocery stores are coming out with all of these better tasting gluten free foods.

There are definitely a few good options! Some better than others but you just have to find the right ones

Womp womp. I hate that your site doesn’t let me save my info anymore in the comment sheet so I have to fill it in every time. Aka HUGE first word problem that’s not really a big deal because my computer let’s me tab and fill it in.
I have watched a few episodes this season and I loved that little boy; he was so stinking cute! I have seen so many people studying for the NASM! when you and Andy move to FL, you can be my personal trainer
I’ll pay you in food and ridiculousness.
Running In Heels March 13, 2013 at 8:42 am
Ahhh! That stinks! Sorry girl!
And just being in Florida weather would be good enough for me!

Running In Heels March 13, 2013 at 8:42 am
I agree!! She is the best motivator!

Jillian Michaels is amazing… I sometimes pretend she’s yelling at me when I’m weight lifting (since I don’t LOVE to do it as MUCH as running).
Running In Heels March 13, 2013 at 8:43 am
Haha that’s definitely a good way to motivate yourself!
Chelsea @ Bacon & Pearls March 12, 2013 at 6:18 pm

That pasta dinner you posted looks amazing btw.

I bet you would love it too!!
Karla @ myhighonlife March 18, 2013 at 8:32 am
I have the biggest lady crush on Jillian. The infamous “what famous person would you want to get lunch with” question… my answer is hands down Jillian. Borderline obsession. She’s an amazing trainer, has a killer body and had to WORK for it. Inspirational!
I’m slowly but surely studying for NASM too. It’s so interesting but does not make me miss the studying days of college.

Good luck on your personal trainer certification!
