Today has already been busy, busy, busy! And nothing about that is going to change any time soon!
I had a 4:20 wakeup call this morning, because I got to team teach my first group exercise class at 5:00! Usually, my alarm goes off and I’m like:
but, this morning was different! I was actually excited to get up and get to class, and a little coffee didn’t hurt either
The class I taught was called Butts and Guts, and while we definitely did a lot of ab/glute exercises, there was quite a bit of cardio and arms involved as well! I really enjoyed the class and I have to admit that the 38429798374 rounds of running stairs absolutely killed me.
Also, the arm work we did was definitely a… humbling experience.
I think I know what I need to work on. When it comes to arm workouts, I am definitely guilty of pushing them aside after a long run. All it took was one hour of being held accountable for me to realize that my arms need serious work. New goals are a good thing though! I think this whole “having people stare at me while I workout so that I can’t slack off ever” thing is going to be good for me.
After Butts & Guts, my boss and I set up a schedule of classes for me to attend so that I am familiar with all of the classes that I might be teaching at our gym. I am so excited about getting a lot more involved in group exercise!
I’m planning on getting a 4-5 mile run in with Lily today, because I don’t even want to think about the craziness that would develop if she didn’t get her exercise… and then I’ll be attending another new class tonight, called Sweat Express! I’m guessing from the title that this one is going to be a little bit more cardio based, which I would usually be super excited about, but after this morning, I have to admit that I am feelin’ the strength training thing again!
I can already tell that I’m going to be really sore tomorrow.
And that’s a good thing.
Tell Me: Have you taken any new group exercise classes lately?? What is your favorite class and what do you like most about it?
